NEVER DEPART Lion of Judah Tee

The biggest plot twist in the Bible takes exactly two verses.

In Revelation 5, the apostle John is crying. In the right hand of God there's a sealed scroll that holds the end of the story, and no one in heaven or on earth is worthy to open it.

Then one of the elders tells him to stop weeping:

"Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book." (Revelation 5:5)

So John turns around to see the Lion.

And what he sees is a Lamb. "A Lamb as it had been slain." (Revelation 5:6)

Read that again. He turns to look for a lion and finds a lamb that's been sacrificed. That's the whole gospel in one turn of the head. The strongest King who ever lived won by laying His life down.

The title goes all the way back to Genesis 49, where Jacob blessed his son Judah and called him "a lion's whelp." King David came from Judah's line. So did Jesus.
